Have you ever kept this secret?
from you family?
How bad did you have it?
wouldn't it be nice to have a support group for depressed women, who want to keep this secret,,,, just to share it with other people so they won't feel like they aren't alone?

Alot of women keep this from their famlies! Thy dont want to be "labled" as a bad mom because they are depressed! But i thik keeping it in is worse cause then you dont have the support of other people and keep it all inside and this can lead to disaster!! anyone suffering should get help...even if you arent sure...go to your doc and find out if it is infact PPD or just the blues.

-I have suffered from depression for 10years plus and it just gt worse for me after my kids (I DO LOVE THEM) but PPD isnt anyones fault, it just happens.
- I went on meds after my daughter my 1st they worked great..but then after bring on them for a couple of years i noticed that if i went one day without taking them i had terrible side effects and major bouts of crying and depression and wird electric shock senations in my head called Electric shock symdrome....so I went to the doc and i was told too wean my self off...which was a terible experience i felt like a drug addict going off of drugs (which basiclly thats what is was) my body had it for so long...it needed the drug! by the way that drug was EFFEXOR XR 150mg EVIL STUFF
so them i went onto wellbutrin 300mg, now im off of that and i feel better than i did when i was on my meds!
-YES it would be great if there was a support group for women that were hiding PPD
GOOD LUCK TO ANYONE SUFFERING

Hundreds if not thousands. I have been suffering from severe anxiety and depression for over 4 years. I kept it a secret for a long long time. It just kept getting worse and worse. I dropped out of school, didn't want to leave the house, and couldn't even talk on the phone. Finally I got the courage to go to the doctor and get on some medication. It took a while to work so I had a couple relapses, but now I'm doing much better. After you tell someone, the next person is much easier (I know, it's very cliche). I am proud of myself now for overcoming this disorder and love talking about it and helping others with the same issues. It's not something to be embarrassed of, let someone know so you can get help. It can literally save your life!

There are millions of people that suffer with this and some that many have never been diagnosed. There are support groups for this. Check you local hospital for these. I deal with this. I have taken medication in the past for this. Most of my family has a case of depression. It is very common. It can be caused by many different things. Even by the food we eat.

it is very treatable if you ask for help. I think i had more post traumatic stress from having my son 2 months early than i had post partum depression, but i asked for help I was at the end of my rope and within a week of medication i was sooo much better and didnt need it anymore. Ask your doctor

After I had the first baby, I was kinda looney. I would wash my hands 100 times a day because I was convinced that I would contaminate her if I didn't. I wouldn't let hubby handle her too much. In a way I thought she might die if I touched her with dirty hands...I didn't dare tell anybody....
