Only in a recession. You buy when everyone is scared and you sell when everyone is excited. That's the name of the game. Buffett and Graham have been preaching it forever.

Two years ago I was all-out margin, almost always having like 50-55% equity. Today I took out most of my money, I am 90% cash (or near equivalent) and wouldn't dare borrow a dollar to invest in stocks.

If you can't spell borrow right, you should not be barrowning money to PLAY in the stock market. At what interest rate are you going to borrow money? What stock are you going to buy? What if that stock goes down? What if that stock is flat? The answer is that with the broker's fee, tax and interest on your loan, you will lose money. Not all stocks go up.
