what an interesting question.
well obviously one has to remain on the earth for just about forever - seeing as I'm not a space traveller and I'm not likely to be beating gravity any time soon. Even when I am dead I will remain on the earth - or even under it depending on my funeral requirements.

Well, probably until I die which would be 60 years or so. It would be nice if before then I would be able to at least take a vacation off the planet, but that is wishful thinking.

Ok, seriously, I plan to be cremated and have my ashes scattered, so I my body will forever be part of this earth.
My spirit, having no physical form, is another matter.

I have no idea. I'll stay until the Good Lord calls me home. No one knows the day or the hour unless they take their own life. There is no chance that I'll do that!
