Can any USB device perfrom its desired fucntion without the computer knowing about its presence. for example when a usb deivce is attached the computer searches for the drivers and installs them and the usb device is ready to run. if a plug and play usb is inserted in the usb port of computer, the computer doesnt sense the existence of usb. and the usb device can still send or recive data to the computer RAM using DMA (Direct Memory Access).

Ok thanks for the answer. But can a peripheral Usb device hide itself from the computer. if not then is it possible to change the vendor id and product id and other information of USB device so computer doesnt know what is the actuall connected device. for example a usb mass storage device pretending to be a hic device?

No as soon as the USB device has been inserted the Plug and Play interface starts to intialise and communicate with the computer.

The computer then starts to load the drivers from the device if they have not previously been installed.

In order for the computer to send or even receive data from something, it has to know that it is there.

If not, it would not know where the data was supposed to be sent to.

No, stealth USB hasn't been invented yet.
