The costumes used during most of the Shakesprearean era plays were Elizabethan era clothing and later Jacobean era clothing, regardless of the play. Also clothing from the actors own collection and most of the time each production was costumed differently. Looking at Renaissance, Elizabethan, and Jacobean clothing would be helpful. here's what I found in the costuming manifesto:
http://www.renaissancefestival.com/costumes/
http://www.renfaire.com/Costume/costume-guide.html
http://www.anniescostumes.com/renaissaf.htm
http://www.anniescostumes.com/renaissafp.htm
http://www.anniescostumes.com/renaissadel.htm
Just various options its easy to just search through these costuming sites or go to your local fabric store, and look in their pattern books at the halloween costumes, Renaissance is very popular! Good luck!!
