San Diego is pretty nice during the day but you'll probably want something like a long sleeve T-shirt or light jacket/sweater for the evenings and night. Sd is usually around 70 in the day and 55 at night. Phoenix is pretty warm and summer clothes will do fine there; it's usually around 80-85 in the day and 60 at night.

Perfect time to visit Phoenix! Bring summer clothes! Seriously, it's already in the 80's and it's only March. San Diego is normally about 15 degrees cooler. Bring a light jacket.
