I am 35 weeks and 5 days. Tues. I was 2 cm dilated and about 3/4 dilated on the inside. Wed. I started being REALLY sore around my pantline or hairline if that gives a better description. Yesterday afternoon I lost my mucous plug. Yesterday evening I started having cramps, they got worse last night keeping me awake from 2-6 and then they sort of slowed down again today. I have not had any bleeding or spotting? Am I getting ready to go in labor? This is my second pregnancy, but I was induced with my daughter so I really didn't experience any of this. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

Well, try to rest up. Sounds like labor is right around the corner for you. It could be tonight, tomorrow or possibly next week. But you are definately showing the signs of labor. If your low back starts becoming painful accompanied by the cramping in the lower area I would call the Dr. and let her know. Be careful as well. The 2nd time around can come much faster than the first.

Good Luck and Congratulations.

Not sure, I'm due tomorrow, lost my mucus plug a very long time ago and was 1 cm dilated on monday's check up. I've been having infrequent contractions for a week so you never know. I thought I was going to go into labor on Wednesday but the contractions got further apart. I also was induced with my first so I don't know what to think either. But all that doesn't necessarily mean you're going into labor like I said I lost my mucus plug a long time ago (months ago) also lost it around 6 months with my first. These are just false labor contractions, hope you go full term 35 weeks is still a little early.

I would think you are totally ready to go into labor. Whenever I lost my mucous plug, within 24 hours I was having regular contractions and going to the hospital. I don't remember having any bleeding or spotting after loosing the plug either but the contractions definitely picked up their intensity. Since you are already 2cm dialated I would think that they would want you to come in anyway just to check your progress----my 2nd baby came so much faster than my first. By the time I got to the hospital, I had her within 30 minutes! Hang in there---I think you are really close now.

from the sounds of it , could be braxton hicks contractions, your body is getting ready for the real thing. I had these for over 2 weeks with my son. My doc's advice was if you have steady contractions in ever decreasing intervals, when your water breaks or the contractions become 5 min apart or less, its time. Braxton hicks tend to be a bit more erratic 8 min, then 4 min, then 6 etc. The most important thing though is that you are comfortable. don't hesitate to go to the hospital and get checked, the more relaxed you are the better it is for the wee' one !
best of luck and best wishes for a quick and easy delivery!

have you seen your doctor? at 35 weeks 5 days, the baby can come at anytime. So if it was just losing the plug and not experiencing any long pains, i could say your okay. Some don't lose the plug at once but in days.. but i can't explain the pain that kept you up all night. See your gynae, he'll be able to tell exactly what is going on.. ( they can give you pills to stop the labor if they feel its not time yet..)

Sounds like it's happening!!! pack your bags and get ready to leave at any given moment, remember though that it is better the labor at home as long as you can then to be strapped to a hospital bed with all kinds of needles and cords attached to you... so until your contractions are 3-5min. apart for more than an hour or your water has broken just take advantage of being at home where you are able to eat and drink and get up and use the bathroom as often or as much as you want

I'm pregnant w/ my 4th so I know what your going through right now. Yes your getting ready to go into labor. every time you feel even just a little cramping your thining out just a little tiny bit more. this could take days or even just hours. to speed it up you can walk. Or if your like me and don't like to walk and if you have a breastpump you can begin to pump to let your milk down, this is a natural way to induce and speed things up.

Sounds like you need to go in and be evaluated. This baby is still premature. 38 weeks is full term. Babies born before term can have immature lungs and need special care. It sounds like something may be going on, but the best way to be sure is to go in and get hooked up to the monitors, so it can be determined if the cramping is actually early labor.

Sounds to me like you are getting close, but try not to worry or get upset if it doesn't happen for awhile yet, the baby will come when it is ready. Good luck and congratulations!
