I am relocating to Nashville in the fall and am beginning my house search. I will be working in Brentwood. I would like to live south of the city, or southeast. Murfreesboro is how far from Nasvhille?!? I will be purchasing a townhome for aprox. $65-85k.

What areas should I look at? I found some really great townhomes in Antioch and Smyrna, I just need more info on the area, taxes, association fees, etc. before narrowing down my search. Thank you!

It's hard to say without knowing more about what you are looking for in a neighborhood.

I personally wouldnt want to in Antioch. The traffic is really bad and crime seems to be on the rise. The area lacks quality shopping (the mall keeps losing stores) and there is a defiate lack of entertainment. If I had to live in Antioch, I would live in the Nippers Corner area. It's affordable, not as crowded and you have easy access to other parts of town.

Smyrna and Lavergne are good values, but there isnt anything there outside of subdivisions. If I was married and had kids I would consider it. As a younger single guy, I would avoid it like the plauge.

Murfreesboro is pretty nice, but it lacks quality bars and restaurants. You will still have to go to Nashville for those.

If you dont really care about the social scene, you should look at Spring Hill and Nolensville. Both are affordable, up and coming neighborhoods.

Good luck. welcome to Nashville

I live in Nashville and it all depends on how long in time and distance you want to commute to and from work. It can get to be long line of traffic if every one goes the same way as you morning and night. As far as a town home in that range I am not up to snuff on where you will get that price. It may not be close to your job at all. By the way I am a mortgage banker in Nashville and if you need help with the financing just drop me a line.
You will love the area.
