Deborah Jean Palfrey got busted for for being a high dollar pimp in Washington DC. She might sell her not so little black book to pay for her legal defense - if you were a politician that had used her services, what would you do? Also, do you think the men should be held accountable too?

i'd be squirming. (of course you know i wouldn't be found on that list in the first place!) but for the sake of your question it would boil down to one of a few courses of action. a politician might...
(a) offer to pay her legal defense services FOR her in exchange for keeping the contact book closed.
(b) formulate a defense/denial strategy like "i did NOT have sex with that woman." but don't demand proof: you just might GET it.
(c) practice spin control on it, knowing full well that you might be able to hide amidst the seas of other guilty parties as well: "i made a wrong choice, i apologize to my ___ (wife, family, constituents, dog, whoever will make for the most sincere media apology), and i have learned from my mistake and will never ever do this again."
(d) resign in disgrace, then write a book about it.
(e) sue to prevent client disclosure.
which would be effective? in the long term, (a) and (e) for their political future, and (c) or (d) to allow them to sleep at night.
as a guilty pol, which would i do? i prefer a good night's sleep. good thing i don't have to worry.

You do the dirty and get found out. Take the pain. If I were single, I'd not worry about it. Married, punishment is you own sense of self being diminished, and the look on your spouses face.
