My old coach had tendinitis in his wrist. It wasn't because he used bad form, it was because tennis can be harsh on the wrist. He switched to a lighter racquect and that helps a lot. Your teammate should ice his wrist every day for 10-30 minutes. It would help if he stayed off of it for a couple of days, but that might not be possible. He can also buy a sports cream. If it is really bad, he should go see a doctor. I had wrist problems. Ice and sports cream is the best thing you can do.

I'd also say bad form may have caused it. In tennis i don't think we usually use our wrists often. Maybe he/she should switch to badminton?

It may also be the rackets he/she's been using. Are they all of the same, weight or swing ratio?
