Preferably out west... Theres gotta be something cool off one or two of the exits... besides desert.

Are you serious? Wow, what a ride that trip is. "Preferably out west... " Don't get discouraged that when you first leave that it seems like all city forever. Once you get passed San Antonio that will all change. A must stop at and one that I stop at often is Tombstone, Az. You'll find it about 25 miles south of Benson on I10. It's a nice adventure back in time and will cost you about half a day. I can't think of a time that I went there and spent more than 50 bucks. I'm sure it can be done but just to see a few sites without blowing your money in the gift shops you can get by with less than 50 bucks. They have reenactments, dress in western clothes, it's just a cool place to stop at.
