Well my daughter came in the house smelling like pure weed! I was astonished, and I couldnt take the smell anymore! I fussed at her and whooped her with an extension cord to blow her high, and asked her did she have anymore of that herb left. She said yes, she gave it to me, then I told her to go to bed and didnt feed her BC she had the munchies. When I found she was asleep I rolled it up and decided to take a few puffs by myself and I finally realized why kids love it so much! What do I do to hide from my child that I smoke weed everyday?

You need to teach proper toking etiquette: puff, puff, pass

Whooped her with an extension cord to blow her high and then didn't feed her - because she did the same thing you do everyday? Well, you will not win any parent of the year awards.

I mean, I can understand smoking pot and not wanting your kids to do the same thing. I can understand not smoking pot and trying to keep your kids away from it. I can not understand the temper you display over your "Do as I say not as I do" mentality that you are showing in this question.

Why not talk more to your child about the dangers of smoking - particularly when she should be excelling or being responsible? How about getting her a volunteer job so she hangs out with her current crowd less? How about feeding her nutritious food for the munchies which kills a high often times anyway? If you didn't smoke yourself I would suggest warning her that you will call the police the next time she breaks the law.

There has got to be a way for people to handle this situation - because there are a LOT of people in this situation. If pot were legal, we could treat it like alcohol. What we need to teach our kids is how these things affect us, why we use them, the dangers of them and why we don't want them using them. Let's face it, they are going to do whatever they want when they are not under our supervision. Have you thought about why you don't want her using pot? Have you explained it to her in a calm and reasonable manner? Your own experience gives you insight - and while you may not want to tell her that you smoke now, you can tell her that you have smoked in the past and know what you are talking about.

After such a display of temper over her smoking pot, you surely better hide the fact that you smoke everyday. If she finds out she will lose a lot of trust and respect for you (I have seen it before). I suggest that you smoke only after she has gone to bed and hide it under your mattress - kids root through drawers - or lock your bedroom when you are not in it.

Peace!

My mother in law and i had this discussion not too long ago. She has always smoked weed and when her kids (including my hub) were growing up she said she felt like such a hypocrite. BUT, you do have to guide your kids in the right direction. When se is older you guys can smoke a doobie together, but for now... tell her that you do not condone her smoking pot.

What kind of mother are you? You can't smoke weed, you will ruin your life and everybody elses. You will ruin your health, mess up your internal organs, and probably end up in tons of trouble. I know, my father did drugs. Get help fast! Make sure you quit before it is too late, you don't want to be a drug addicted mother, you can't take care of your children when you are high or in jail.
