I had originally called the post office because we knew about a book ministry that sends out books all over the world to the mission fields. They send them for $1 a pound with a minimum of 11 pounds or $11.
So the Post Office said they could do that as well then when I went in the starting rates for an M-bag (you put your box inside) were $17 for 4 pounds.
I am sending 3 boxes to a missionary in Botswana but right now it will cost me about $150. I'm guessing they are all about 30 pounds. I was hoping to pay closer to $90.

Anyone have any ideas or input. UPS had some quotes over $1000.00!!!!!! That is rediculous!

I am going to call the book place and ask them how they are doing it so cheap!

We plan on sending a box for each "missionary of the month" so I need to know this for future reference too.

Contact Mission Aviation Fellowship. They may be able to do a hand-off for you. When I worked for them they had missions in Tanzania. I'm sure the would love to help. www.maf.org

Good luck!
