The costs of flying an aeroplane are based on the weight it has to carry. The more weight, the higher the fuel consumption. I am only allowed to carry a certain amount of luggage free and yet someone twice my weight can have the same amount. Why should I subsidise their fare. I believe that if airlines charged by kilo and the seat, this would be much fairer.

A/C are designated to hold only so much baggage. In the winter months the weight is increased, and at times the Captain has to make a decision to either lighten the load by less baggage or less passengers. That also has to compensate the weight of fuel and final destination.

Why not have an airline just for fat people, not only do they have the same luggage allowance, they also have your seat space, when you sit next to one they spill over to your seat which you've paid for, have you ever tried to eat your meal sat next to a fat person, the smell puts you off, could call the airline squeezy jet!!!

Tell me about it! I travel by airplane at least twice a year and EVERYTIME I have to pay extra yet my son and I are not heavy at all. I've "donated" so much money to certain airlines it's sick! Plus now they raised the price if your luggage is overweight. Jerks!

I completely agree. I am an eight stone person but I choose to have a solid suitcase so my stuff doesn't get trashed. I fight to keep the baggage weight down to 20kg, but somone who is 40kg heavier than me gets on the plane with no penalty.

Bring it on!

yeah, 100kg, after that you pay, regardless of what it is.

maybe a 110kg if im being kind, but either way about a £2-3 for each Kg after that.

Is it totally fair and a great incentive, plus airlines get the fuel they actually use paid for, rather than estimates.

Yeah, i actually complained once cos i had this huge huge lady next to me on a flight to Barbados and no disrespect but she had to lift the arm rest to spill into my seat so i was all squashed, i spoke to the steward and said if she needed 2 seats she shoulda paid for 2 and it wasn't fair cos i had paid for a seat and was only getting half a seat......he upgraded me to first and gave me free champagne...try it if your ever in that situation, i actually thanked her!

yeah i can imagine the following conversation

air steward -- "sorry sir u will have to bring a smaller bag, as you are so FAT"

fat geezer-- "are you crazy u puny punk ? I have BIG clothes so i have to have a BIG bag to put them in , plus i need somewhere to store my food for the trip..."

will never work, dude. wow!

so basically you want to be able to carry 3 suitcases and have the fat dude next to you only be allowed to carry a backpack....he's bigger so his clothes are bigger he needs more packing space. And no you shouldn't get a discount because your **** is sitting in a seat just like his fat ****
