I don't think so. The kitchen is usual the folkal point of the home so it should be open to anyone. In my family my mom and me and my siter are the general cooks but my dad is a wonderful cook as well and on occasion will cook meals for us. And also if a woman is a terrible cook and her husband isn't then why not let him have at it. It's an individual thing.

No they too have to get out and face the world.
Why should women be kept in the corner of the kitchen while men explore the wonderful world?

No, it shouldn't be exclusively for women. A woman makes her own domain. If she wants it to be the kitchen, so be it. If a man wants to cook, let him.

It's not about gender, it's about function.

The kitchen's function is to store and prepare food. Therefore the person primarily responsible for these functions is the person who rules the kitchen. Sharing is an option, if the involved parties agree to it.

That's just a simple minded stereotype, the kitchen and the home belong to the family and they all must help each other no matter who's the cooks.

no,not entirely.whether to remain in kitchen or not should be entirely the choice of that respective lady.Women are by birth versatile. They should come out to explore their hidden strengths and skills. Moreover, we see that men are equally good in household work[if they take it seriously]and can handle the household affairs quite efficiently. The best example to give here is-most of the commercial shelf are men. Also, they help their working wives willingly in house hold work which was initially considered as women's domain. So today the types of work are divided on the basis of an individual's choice and not on sex basis.

I think my husband might object to that as he loves to cook......in fact there have been times when he throws me out of the kitchen! And I'm sure there are other men out there who also enjoy cooking just as much, if not more than some women.

HTH : )

Heck no. Last night by boyfriend made me some splendid homemade french fries - and then cleaned the whole kitchen and polished the stove. Meanwhile, I sat and read a book. Man, this is the life!!!!!

This is a cultural issue.

Most good restaurant have male Chief Cook or Chef until recently.

With both husband and wife working full time, this responsibility is shared and should be shared, and more and more couples are going to be sharing in the future.
