Have a spa party-
I went to the dollar store and bought nail polishes,Makeup remover pads, lip glosses, bath puff things, hair clips and little things like that. I also bought a big tub of Noxema and body glitter. I then made goodie bags out of little containers to keep the stuff in. I also bought white mens tee shirts so they would not get their clothing dirty and bought fabric markers so each of the girls could write on eachothers shirts. The girls all put their hair up withe the clips and used the scrubbers to wash their faces with the noxema- then we put mud on our faces. Once we washed it off we put on the body glitter and lip glosses and painted our nails- They all kept the stuff that they used and went home with a spritz of pomegranate body spray (smells a lot like cotton candy) Instead of lunch we did little appetizer type things like poppers and popcorn chicken. We had chips and dips and veggies and so on- this way they could pick here and there during the whole party. We played truth or dare while doing this and ended up with some really fun pics. I then took white tee shirts and a pic of them all with white faces and printed them onto iron on transfers and before they left in their normal clothes I ironed on the transfer to their shirt.

It was not too expensive and a lot of fun.

for my daughters 13th we hired a limousine that had karaoke facilities, she and a group of friends went out for an hour and had a ball. The trip was taped so we have that to always look back on.
Dinner in a nice restaurant is also an idea as it makes the girls feel a little grown up. I guess it depends on the time of year for the party too, pool parties are good fun. A seventies theme disco could be a hoot. Or even a bad taste fancy dress

Young girls have changed since I was 14.....they are more like 18 now. I recomend you order them some pizza and munchie food....rent a few movies and let them just hang out alone. From what I've seen 14 year old girls don't really care for the whole party with family and parents thing anymore. If you wanna spend a bit more $$ send her and a few of her close friends to the show and maybe to play mini putt after.

I would say that you should do a theme. Whatever recent show, fad, or other thing that your daughter is into, make it the theme of the party. Another idea could be a costume party where the guests could come as an actor or singer and you could maybe do a little karaoke or something?

I hope I am understanding your question correctly. I believe you specified no sleepovers, so many of the answers that are listed are out of the question. My recommendation is to be their chauffer for the evening. Girls at that age love to cruise the main strip, and go out to eat, shop, etc. Rent a vehicle that they can all fit into or if your is large enough but not "omigosh" embarassing, lol, and dress the part of chauffer and treat them as if they were young celebrities. Keep a safe distance while they are shopping, etc. of course, but let them live the fantasy that they are out on their own on the town. Additional Option: Check with your local volunteer fire departments, as some of them may have a small building they use for fundraising dinners. Sometimes they will let you "borrow" it for a small donation. You could throw a small dance party there after the girls are done getting "glamourized" depending on your budget for a select number of boys and girls her age. NOTE-Prior to doing this, you may want to get some gift certificates for pedicures/manicures, meals at one of her fave restaurants, etc. to cut down on the amount of cash she will be carrying, but use your imagination and I am sure she and her friends will love it!

American Idol themed party: Have 3 adults be judges (acting as Paula, Randy, and Simon) Then basically have karaoke or if you have Playstation they make an American Idol game. You can make numbers for all the girls and have auditions.

She can have a music themed party where all the girls come dressed as their fav artist or group. You can hang up cds or records. Make record invites and have a cake to go with it.

All depends on what your daughter likes.

depending on your daughters interests:

for my 14th birthday i had a luau. i got tons of decorations at the party store (leis, grass skirts, props, signs, etc). i played some hawaiian music and made tropical drinks. my cake was decorated as an island on the ocean. weather or space permitting, you could go outside and set up a campground with tiki lights and a campfire. It could go late into the night with smores and gossiping. If you wanted a sleepover you could sleep in a tent. also, if your outside, you could use a childs wading pool and sand box to make a pretend beach. it was a lot of fun.

Buy a bunch of cheap make up and hair accesiories from the dollar store and have a beauty parlour. Every one gets their hair and make up done. Some may need to wash off before they go home. It will be great fun for them, how many kids are aloud to wear makeup at that age, it will be a fun treat for them. And it is not like they are going to go out in public with it on. Just check with the parents if they are going out anywhere after they pick up their child so they can be washed and ready to go. This will keep them occupied for the whole thing. They will have a blast! Hoep this helps, good luck and good health to you and yours!

Some gr8 ideas are make-overs and pool parties!
Make-overs:

Summary:

This is easy and girls LOVE it. All you need is a room and a mirror/vanity and chairs.
What you do is have a professional make-up artist and/or family members that are good with make-up (if your daughter likes the idea of doing make-overs themselves do that.)

Decorating:

Find an empty room in which you can set up some tables, chairs and mirrors. Depending on your daughter's fave color decorate the room that way example. pink (cover the frame of the mirrors with pink toulle or cloth, get pink plastic table cloths and hang pink garlands from the ceiling.)

Food:

The food is what gives tired guests more energy to PARTY. Before you serve the "main" course have bowls of chips and candy out. Have pizza and salad for dinner/lunch.
And finally for the piece of resistance: the cake!
Make or order a cake in the shape of a mirror, lipstick, make-up container etc.

Goody bags (optional):

Get bags in your daughter's fave color and put in lip gloss, nail polish, eye shadow and a colored brush (for even more fun have your daughter or her guests decorate the brushes with glitter glue < write their names or flowers.>)
Also put in hair-clips and hair bands.

Pool:

Summary:

Girls love to swim so program it in your house pool or at the local swimming pool. If your state or country is to cold at the moment to swim drop this idea and sorry for the suggest! :-D

Decorating:

Nothing, if the pool is outside all you have to dois place table cloths on the tables (if there are any.)

Food:

Have energetic food like candy and chips or pop-corn available. Bring out a pizza and finally...CAKE!!!!!!! Get one with blue frosting por one that looks like a pool.

Goody-bags (optional):

Put in goggles and swim caps and little blue gem stones on a chain.

Good luck and wish ur daughter a happy birthday!

Have a spa party. Buy facial masks, nail polish, makeup, things for their hair and let them do makeovers on each other while talking about boys. Make finger foods and put on a girly movie for them.
