Ok I just put that title to get your attention. The Mayan Calender ends December 21, 2012. What do you think will happen to the World? if anything at all

I didn't realise this question had been asked I should of done a search. I don't think the world is going to end I just put that to get people attention. I think the Mayans were an advanced nation and I do believe somthing will happen on that date. I just want your opinions on what you think will happen.

Dec 21, 2012 - it's the end of a current cycle of solar activity, after which a new cycle is expected to begin.
It will probably have no effect whatsoever, just like Y2K etc.

The world will go on. The mayans just ran out of rock then. If the rock was bigger, they would have carved more calendar.
Your premise is like saying that the world will end on December 31 of the current year, because that's the last date on the calendar.
The mayans apparently had decent math and observation skills, because they learned to make a calendar. But that doesn't mean that they were somehow in tune to mystical forces in the universe. Remember, these are the same people that did human sacrifices because one team lost a ball game.

I don't know. The last time a major cycle of the Mayan calendar ended, it was in 1519. As Mel Gibson states, Apocolypto.
At least for the Aztecs and Mayans.
So I would stock up on canned goods in 2012.

Despite the Mayan Calender the next day, December 22nd, will be just another day. Its doubful whether the cosmos pays much attention to the Mayans.

I thought it was December 23rd? Well regardless of what day it is I'm not if anything will happen. Many predictions have been made in the past that have not come true.... then again its been said that philosphers predicted 9/11. Your guess is as good as mine.

Anyway, wasn't the Mayan civilization in ruins? Obviously their world ended alot sooner. Probably not the most trustworthy people.

The calendar on my wall end on 31st December 2007....I don't think anything will happen.
Nor do I think that anything will happen when the Mayan calendar ends.

I don't think anything would happen, wasn't the world suppose to end 2000 but nothing happened. if we are going to die just hope you go to heaven and save me a house and ice creams!
