I just got a Nokia 8800. It's been on charge for 3hrs 30mins, after the first hour of charge the indicator stopped moving (I unplugged it and plugged it back in everytime it stopped moving).

Do I need to carry on charging the phone or is it enough?
(It doesn't say anything in the manual)

When I get a new cell phone I usually charge it fully for at least 6 hours then when I use it let it drain completely then charge it again which could take 2 hours to fully charge. They say that cell phones dont build up a memory, but I think a new phone should get a full complete charge, even after 30 minutes it will say it has charge but dont let that fool you, normal charge time on a brand new phone is 6 to 8 hours or that is what I have been told. I have had great success doing it this way. good luck...dont keep un plugging it...let it charge

Whenever it stops, that is when you take it off. Every phone is different. If you keep plugging it back in, that will ruin the battery - because batteries have a limited amount of cycles and each time you charge it when it doesn't need it, that's wasting a cycle. Honestly. As a cell phone Technician, I try to tell everyone to only charge their phones when you have ONE battery bar left on your phone. This should allow your battery to last at least a year - which is the amount of time they are warrantied.

Also, if you use it with a car charger, only use it when it's down to one or no bars on your battery bar on your phone. Because if you constantly put it on the car charger, that wastes cycles too. Be careful. You want your battery to last you as long as it's warrantied. If not, you'll have to pay $40 each time your battery no longer holds a charge. That is the price of batteries, on a regular basis... sometimes they can get higher.

Call where you bought it and ask them. They should know.
