All these Jeter talks has got to be bothering a-rod, who once said "how can you put derek jeter and me in the same sentence?" -- time for yanks to move 'em ??

So a-rod goes out and lost some pounds this off season getting ready to play SS again... correct?

He should demand a trade. He cannot handle the NY media and I dont like him at third base. He is in the top 5 hitters in the game but he does not field third base well enough to earn his salary. The yankees should trade him to a team looking for a shortstop and get a true thid baseman and some relievers or pitching prospects because their staff is aging quickly.

I haven't heard that, but I think it's unlikely. After the past couple of seasons, I don't think any team would be willing to take on his salary.

Even if they were, I don't think they'd be willing to give up enough to make it worthwhile for the Yankees to make the trade.

I think if he lost weight, it's because he wants to do well in the situation he's in. He wants to win a ring (It's the only thing missing from his resume) and he knows his best chance at that is with the Yankees. Even though it means he's got media and fan pressure there (not to mention Steinbrenner), even though he's got to play 3B and even though he's got to play next to Jeter (of whom I think he is very jealous.)

If the Yankees make a trade before the season, it will probably be a pitcher.

Chicago sports radio likes to talk about how close A-Rod is to Lou Piniella and they think that A-Rod might go to the Cubs(either in a trade or at the end of the year) to be with his old manager.

I don't think teams want to pay his salary and based on what he did last year, he's not worth the money. I think the Yankee will keep him but if A-ROd has a MVP year, they might try to trade him for pitchers.
