You really only need a couple minutes for your bag. You need slippers, a good nursing bra, socks, the "take-home" outfit for the baby, maybe a magazine or two. The hospital provides everything else. They give you gowns to sleep in, they give you special underwear, they give you pads, diapers, lotions, wipes, baby gowns, food for you and hubby ... everything. So, tell everyone to chill on that one.
Green and yellow are great for babies of any gender. Sounds like it will be cute and cheerful.
You might want to consider a Snugli or similar front carrier. Also, you want to pick up some gowns. They are great for easy changes. My son was in them for a good few weeks. If you live in a cold climate, you may want to consider a wipes warmer. I know, some people think they are a waste, but we live in MN and those things can get really chilly on the baby's warm bottom. You'll also want to make sure you've got some quality diaper cream, a health kit, a couple hats and a good quality electric pump and nursing pillow if you plan to breastfeed. Just a couple ideas. Good luck!

I wouldn't go overboard on "stuff" I've had 2 babies and its kinda funny to look back and see all the stuff I thought would be so useful that is still wrapped in the package. There are so many specialized baby items out there that really aren't necessary. You will find when the baby gets here the more simple things are the better. You will need diapers, car seat, wipes, baby gowns, Make sure you have plenty of crib sheets and sheet protectors. Other than that you should be fine

As for the colors... I love it! I am too early in my pregnancy to tell if the baby is a boy or girl - but my husband and I have already decided to use MINT GREEN for the baby's room! I think it is perfect!
As for what to make sure you have - a couple recieving blankets - burp cloths - cotton hats - booties and mittens (so the baby doesn't scratch herself)....
Good Luck and Congratulations!

Baby wash, shampoo, diaper rash cream, burp towels, bouncy seat... Also make up a BUNCH of frozen dinners just before - like abig pot of chili to freeze in single servings. Believe me, they come in handy when you've been up all night with the baby, and are too physically exhausted to cook!

2 weeks is enough time, and I think those colors a fine, not the typical pink girls room, thats cool. Some other things you might want to get are: infant Gas drops, helps there little bellies, baby oil-the creamy oil is better it looks like lotion, helps with cradle cap the dry skin on the scalp, and of course lotion, I love putting lotion on my daughter, she does too. Good luck

It takes 10 minutes to pack a bag and it should be you who decides what to bring. Make a list and pack. It's simple.
