Did this help you like in a 24 hour period. If so how much walking did you go out and do that day. I am 38 weeks pregnant and on Tue I was 1cm 50% effaced. I am ready to pop, and I thought maybe if I walk all day it would start labor. I just want to make sure I walk enough.

You could walk for as long as you legs can take it. With the extra weight of the pregnancy sometimes this will tire you faster. Don't get too tired either cause you need your energy for when it really counts. Remember the baby will come when it's ready! (probably not what you want to hear at this point I know)

Make sure you rest instead. Take lots of naps and do things for yourself cause you wont have much time very soon. Go on a date with your husband. Go out for dinner or go shopping!!! Get some meals ready ahead of time that can be frozen. Make sure your house is ready for the baby too. Catch up on your laundry too!

Best of luck and I wish you a memerable, an easy and a fast delivery and recovery!

Walking helps during pregnancy and delivery, but not so much so to start labor. Please also be careful not to get dehydrated, that can cause muscle spasms but not true labor.

The only two things I know that can help labor get started (outside of the hospital) are testosterone and oxytocin. If it’s comfortable, having sex will help get your cervix ready and my start contractions. Nipple stimulation helps with the production of oxytocin - the contraction hormone. This does take time and for someone with tender breasts it can be painful.

Here’s a link from Birthing Naturally if you want more info: http://www.birthingnaturally.net/cn/tech...

NOTE: Nipple stimulation can have very strong effects, similar to Pitocin (synthetic oxytocin). For this reason various experts have given the following recommendations:
- Only massage one breast at a time
- Only massage for 5 minutes, wait up to 15 minutes to see what happens before continuing with the massage.
- Do not stimulate the breast during a contraction.
- Do not use stimulation after the contractions are 3 minutes apart or 1 minute long.

Take care - it's almost over - you'll do great!

You could be 1cm for 2 more weeks. Just relax and get as much rest as you can. You'll need the strength for the labor and delivery because it's going to wear you out as well as the first month with the baby. SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP RELAX RELAX RELAX. You won't know what those are once the baby comes. Good Luck
