Obviously it isn't but if you're a big footy fan you can understand what the great Shanks meant when you think of certain situations.
Liverpool winning the 2005 Champions League Final, for example. I felt like crying at half time, then as the second half progressed I became more and more absorbed and I don't think anything could have distracted me as we went into penalties...

no! I still don't get the football thing I went to the south last year and it was crazy even the mc Donald's had it going old ladies in game team shirts and men fighting because one hated the other ones team so what get on with life it's just a game

Football is THE most unimportant thing on the planet. Just look at the people who watch it... judge their intelligence.. and then decide how important football really is. Maybe football is just a "drug" promoted to keep the overwhelming number of morons happy?

Absolutely not, but judging by the way my husband reacts to it, I may be wrong. As a laugh, I got a suitcase out, put my coat on and told him I was leaving during a really important game, he didn't batter an eyelid. Sigh .........

Well..I wouldn't go as far as to say I'd die for a football match...but it does come before a lot of things!!!!
