My boss has me checking on the validity of subcontractor's FEIN's, and the only website I can find is KnowX.com, but they use D&B, which our subs are not registered with, since they are all from Brazil. Does anyone know of any other websites where I can check them??

Contact The Brazilian Embassy in WASHINGTON:

Trade and Investment Promotion
As an extension of the Ministry of Foreign Relations' Department of Trade Promotion, the Brazilian Commercial Service abroad works through trade promotion offices managed and staffed by Embassy and Consular personnel in 100 countries world wide. In the United States the primary function of the Commercial Service is the promotion of Brazilian exports to the U.S. and foreign direct investment in Brazil. In doing so Trade and Investment Promotion offices (SECOM's) operate out of the Embassy in Washington DC, and the Brazilian consulates in Los Angeles, Miami and New York.

Embassy and Consulate staff in these offices field general information about the economy and business climate, and promote joint-venture, trade and technology transfer opportunities between Brazilian and American companies. Specific trade and investment opportunities are also promoted through the BrazilTradeNet, an interactive database maintained by the Ministry of Foreign Relations in Brasília which allows Brazilian and non-Brazilian firms to form business-to-business relationships on-line. In addition to promoting business linkages, the TradeNet contains current information on foreign investment regulation, upcoming trade events and industry shows, as well as market studies on a wide range of sectors. Access to the BrazilTradeNet is free of charge. Interested companies need only register at www.braziltradenet.gov.br and then contact the nearest Trade Promotion Office to validate their membership.

Other trade and investment information maintained by the Embassy is contained under the subject headings in the left panel of your browser. For information not contained under these headings, please contact Embassy personnel for further assistance at:
