I used to go to FastTrack. But switched to Shell since yesterday. This morning, the car seems to be picking-up real slow and pressing on the gas makes it go all wheezy. Once it picks up speed, which is quite late, the car does run fast, however. Has anyone experienced a problem when switching brands? Or do you think this is something else?

Usually changing from one brand to another is no problem. However, a different blend may have slightly different amounts of certain additives. Shell always advertise that their fuels "clean as you drive" which I take to mean they add extra chemicals that break down sludge, carbon build up and other contaminants in the fuel system. If this is indeed true, then you may be experiencing some problems because the deposits picked up by the fuel are partly clogging your fuel system. Try some injector cleaner in the tank. If that doesn't work you should take the car to a mechanic to get the injectors and fuel system cleaned out.

the brands don't really make any difference. There are only a few refineries, and companies like FastTrack buy their gas from the refineries that are owned mostly by major oil companies. The problem you may have with performance is the station. They can get water or other contaminants in the gas tanks. Sometimes they put the wrong gas in the tank so you are pumping the wrong gas.

There shouldn't be problems switching brands. I do it all the time. It sounds like your problem is a bad tank of gas. I've had that happen too. All you can do is burn it. You can add either Lucas Injector Cleaner to the gas or 10oz of Marvel Mystery Oil. These additives will help clean out the gunk that is left behind from the bad gas.
