I am 22 weeks pregnant, with a huge belly and for some time i hate people putting their hand on my belly. Even my 6-years old daughter... But when it's the father doing it, I feel really good and cosy, special. Maybe it's because I feel it as a touch of intimacy?! People mean well and are happy for me, but I can't stand it!! Does it happen to you too??

I am 28 weeks. Thankfully no one really touches my belly except family and close friends (which is completely fine by me!!)...however I will FREAK OUT if strangers or people I don't know very well touch my belly!!!! I think it's creepy and rude. Just because I'm pregnant does NOT give anyone the right to physically touch me and invade my personal space. I know people just can't help it...but to me it's completely unacceptable! Now family and friends are different...they don't bother me at all...it's the strangers that get me.

It's so creepy! You wouldn't think it was ok to just go up to a non-pregnant person you don't know and start rubbing on their stomach...why is it ok when you're pregnant...it's not!

I'm sorry, this subject really gets me going! lol :)

There were a few people very close to me that I didn't mind touching my belly. Once in a while, I'd ask someone to touch it. But I'm not a touchy person, anyway, so I really didn't like it. Thankfully, I don't remember a time when a stranger walked up to touch it. I might have had a hissy fit!

People touch my stomach all the time. If I am familiar with the person, it's ok. HOWEVER, a few weeks ago I had a stranger at the grocery store (the clerk ringing me out!) touch my belly. I didn't like that at all. But, my family, friends is fine. Baby's daddy can touch all he wants...it makes me feel special too! :)

I hear you.....was pregnant with twins..always had people running up and touching me...felt violated often and you didn't have time to react because you don't expect strangers to do that. Worse, after having the twins I didn't lose the weight immediately and kept getting asked if I was pregnant. After causing people embarrasment when I said no, I just started going along with it and stating I was. Good luck and enjoy the attention realizing people only mean well.

Yeah I hate it when people touch my belly too, I am 18 weeks pregnant and I am over weight so when people touch my belly they are not anywhere close to the baby. I just want to tell them to "back off my fat!" lol.

I hated when strangers tried to touch my belly. I simply stepped back and said, "I'd rather you not do that." If they got offended it was their problem, not mine. It's my body and I don't need to be made to feel uncomfortable. Only once have I ever had to physically take someones hand off of me. I told them, "I said no. I mean it" and walked away. So next time someone tries, let them know it makes you uncomfortable and go on your happy pregnant way!

Some people don't mind it and some people hate it - It doesn't matter because it's just sooooo rude for someone to touch your belly (unless they ask first and give you the option of saying no). Your belly is not public domain.

It happen to me. My daughter was a couple of months when I got pregnant again. I couldn't stand for my husband to touch it. But when my daughter would I would love it. Because my little boy would start kicking and moving around. I guess that they had a bond with each other, it was so cute. I understand where you are coming. Try to get your daughter to touch and see what happens. Little kids love to be creative.

What's that about?!!! I understand strangers, but your own child? From that comment about being OK with just your husband's touch, it sounds a lot like insecurity. Of what? I don't know? Is it because he doesn't normally show you affection otherwise? If so, that's bad news.

There are a lot of women out there who are constantly getting pregnant as a means of getting attention/affection. If that's you,or you think that may become you, you should seek help, because that's only going to leave you more empty and depressed in the end. You may end up hurting those kids even more in the end.

I definitely hate it when people touch my stomach! The only person that's allowed to is my husband, but anyone else touching it makes me nuts! Lots of my family still tries to touch it every now and then even after I've asked them not to, it's a personal thing and I just don't want people touching me :)
