It took at least ten minutes for that second line to appear! And I can barely see that line, but when I hold the test up the the light I can see it more clearly. Was this a screw up in the test? Has this ever happened to anyone before? I know I should take another test, but who thinks this is positive and who thinks it's just a screw up?

Most tests will say on the box that any results after 10 mins are invalid. I wouldn't say it's defective, but I wouldn't say it's correct either b/c it was past the time that it should show up.

After you take another test, let us know the results

good luck

If the test is done correctly normally the second line should appear within five minutes. In tests I took, if u see carefully there are two very slight lines even before the test and they get colored up after the test. So i don't think it's pozitive!

After ten minutes the test is no longer readable. I can't remember the name of that line but it can happen to any test. Wait about 2-3 days and take another test just to be sure. In the meantime, I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's very likely negative.

What does the box say about 2 lines??

Also, if it took 10 minutes to show up you really shouldn't count it. I think most tests become "invalid" after 3 minutes (the box should tell you how long)

Take another test and give it a try.

The tests usually say to only read them during a certain time period as sometimes they will get a second line after waiting too long. You really should take another test and read it as soon as the time is up. There are false positives and weak positives...the only certain test is a serum (blood) Hcg that a lab can do for you.

Take another test. Did you read the instructions. Usually it only takes a minute for the positive line to appear.

This is exactly what happened to me. I just had a feeling that I should take a test one day -- I really didn't know why. The test came out neg. at the end of the two minutes. So I jumped in the shower and when I got out, about 10 minutes later, out of the corner of my eye I spotted TWO LINES! I couldn't believe it. I called my nurse friend who had given me the tests (the kind they use in the hospital) and asked her how accurate they are. She said congrats, they are 99.9999 percent accurate. Didn't matter the amount of time, I was pregnant. Nine wonderful months later, my son arrived. Good luck!

Most test say the line will show in 3 minutes if it's positive. The truth is that line will normally show up in about thirty seconds or less if you're pregnant. My wife has had that line show up after 10 minutes and it was negative.

I'd spend the extra cash for the digital one that will say the words, "pregnant" or "not pregnant."

Positive!

It might be that you are very early into a pregnancy and that your hormone level (HCG) is still too low to provide a definitive positive reaction. If you are pregnant, and you wait another couple of days, it might be a stronger positive. Also, you might want to try the test (if you didn't already) first thing in the morning when your urine is the most concentrated. Whatever the case, a retest is a must. Good luck!

Negative but you can retest again if you want, no answer after 10 minutes is right. If it shows up 2 to 3 minutes with two lines, no matter how faint the second line is..its a positive.
