My daughter had the same homework, we got out some old classics, Robin Hood, Cinderella etc, and looked for some interesting words.

Dont worry I did not get it until I started looking through the books, language evolves constantly and words that were prevelant now are defunct, which is a shame - many were kind and descriptive! Have fun with it - we did.

I'm studying linguistics and you've got me. I would imagine it's words related to traditions but I'm not sure why a knight is a traidtion or fatastical beasts. I would think it's words like - Christmas, Easter

In this context it would seem that your nephew is being asked to produce a vocabulary based on the tradition of chivalry and olden times. I would suggest jousting, dragons, fair maidens, Robin Hood, crusaders, etc, etc.

It's composed of words used in different sectors of life, Like southern, Ghetto, Bronx, Ny, New Jersey, People pronounce words differently depending on where they're from. Just think how others say the same words as you but they don't sound the same.
