You should be able to petition the court and represent yourself. However, I always recommend getting an attorney, you might be able to find one that will take payments.

You say "save his future?" Is he being abused? If so you need to call social services.

Go to family court. Being poor doesn't get you punished by not letting you have your child. You may be able to get help from the State plus child support. Your child is old enough to choose he lives with.

in addition to the other suggestions, i would go online and see if you can find child custody laws in your state...most states allow a child over 14 to have a say in where they want to live....you should be able to get a public defender or a court appointed attorney pro bono...

good luck

Something like this, you'll want to hire an attorney, and with a very limited budget, most do accept payment plans =)
