Surely they really wanted to KNOW, and the good-mannered thing would be to choose a best answer, especially if it wasn't a frivolous question. Am I alone in being disappointed in this? It can't just be laziness, can it?

I asked a question once and forget to pick a best answer before the time ran out. Some people who are new to Y! Answers, don't know that it matters to pick a best answer, they are just really looking for an answer. Once they get it, they go on with whatever they are doing, without giving it another thought. I don't think they really mean to be rude. I think best answers are more for us, the answerers than for the people asking the questions.

i have had some of my questions not even answered, or better yet some of the people I wish would answer them don't bother to read it, or there is a time on this site when most of the questions are being read, and that is early in the morning. So if you don't even get a good answer, or even someone to even try you just don't want to even bother. I have to admit, I had to pick someone to get that question of my list..

This is a question as old as time friend. When you started typing your question, did you not get a pop-up thing with similar questions? It would take you the rest of the day to read the q and a's people have posted about this.

And you would still be none the wiser !!!

I agree sometime people just say whatever comes to them, but some of the questions are a little bit dumb. But if it is a actual question that people really want to know I think they should only answer it if they know what they are talking about.

Some people, look for the most attention that they can get on a topic that interests them. It will throw them into a spot light, maybe send them a bunch of emails, but after all is said and done. We were just used for our thoughts. Nothing major
