how do you set up AutoCad 2007 for Architecture, and how do you get a line to an exact measurement?

I just got the AutoCad 2007 yesterday and I tryed to make a line a certain leghth like I do the older versions but when I type in the distance and hit enter it don't work, how do you do it. not only that but I noticed that its all in decibles not feet and inches like a architecture drafter needs it. can someone help me out here by telling me how to set it up.

well i dont have auto cad 2007 but in the version im useing at the top of the screen it says "format" next to tool and insert and in there u pick "units" and change it to architectual rather than engineering or scientific
