The Third Tier vs. The Church, The nobility and the monarch.
The third tier was everyone in this day are working to Middle Class. The Third tier was paying for France's problems. They were paying high taxes yet had the lowest income, they were starving yet the others can by Mari said "Eat Cake" and pay very little to the government. The revolution removed the church and nobility from power and placed a government that was fair for everyone not just the high class.

The people against the monarchy. Obviously, the monarchy had the power. The French revolution started because of the excesses of the monarchs. Remember Louis XVI? The basic reason for the revolution was the civil rights of the people. Also the hunger and poverty of the people.

Which revolution are you referring to? There are actually 3 recognized (by historians) French Revolutions. One between the monarchy and the aristocrats, one between the aristocrats and the middle class and one between the middle class and everyone else. Briefly the problems can be summed up into war, poverty, rights and foreign influence.

The way I remember it the French fought against the Austrians from 1792-1797. And then Napoleon took over and then Bill and Ted came and took him to the future.
