I think he's bragging. And the other police should have been suspended too. No-one stopped him.

Junglebo - DID I rattle your cage? I've
just read that she TRIED to grab his genitals. Big difference. Have to admit I
did not realise she had scratched a car.
But I don't give a toss what you say. He
was not trying to handcuff her, he was just giving her a good punching!!
I'm not black - thats if anyone thinks
otherwise!! I'm glad you moved to
another country. You sound just like
the sort of person that could turn me against OUR police force. I suppose
where you are everyone is so nice and
polite and not like us Brits at all.
So YES - PEOPLE like you make me
sick too.

Hi I really do think you should wait until more information comes out before pre-judging the issue. Unless you have ever been in a situation like that you don't know what it's like.
The Police officer from the information I have read so far acted in a proper professional manner. The officer himself has confirmed in a statement that he hit her as hard as he possibly could in order to deaden her arm as she was trying to spit, kick and bite him as well as trying to grab his genitals. That shows the officer is not trying to hide anything. She made no mention while in custody that she was epileptic in fact she is only self diagnosed and is not on any medication. Even after this event she didn't seek any medical attention. She admitted drinking a bottle of brandy and has no recollection of what happened. Come on I agree the CCTV looks bad, but we've only seen a few seconds and not the whole of the incident. I support the officer completely until evidence to the contrary is produced

I'd pay money to see any man not do anything when some drunk grabs there bits violently (and it must have been violently as every other action of hers was violent) - but I think my money would be safe cos most men would knock her out flat

I do not think any of the police men should be suspended or removed from front line duties in these circumstances - the poor guy was doin his job and if more people including the government werent so sympathetic towards criminals then maybe we wouldnt be having this discussion all over the internet - she broke the law and resisted arrest and she got what she deserved

I for one would rather have a fight with a drunk bloke before i would have a fight with a drunk female - females are viscous when fighting

I don't think we can really decide who was right and who was wrong because we don't know the full story of what happened. The cctv footage only showed a very small, blurred image that was from the wrong angle to show what the girl was doing and where the policeman was hitting her. I do think it was wrong for him to hit her but she's hardly blameless herself, she had got really drunk and smashed up a car. She's not in a position to sue the police for what happened, she was left with a few bruises but that's it. I hate that we're living in a culture that is so full of blame and that people demand money left right and centre as compensation as if that really makes a difference, it's just greed.

While the police have been prone to power abuse at times, anyone who physically attacks a law enforcement officer has little to complain about if he fights back, even if it's a woman. Especially if it's a drunk woman. While alcohol throws off your coordination, it also numbs pain pretty good, and it takes a lot more force to stop someone.

I won't say what this guy did is right. At the same time, I'm not convinced what he did is wrong.

Rule #1. Don't ever get physical with a cop. You'll lose.
Rule #2. Get physical with a cop and you get whatever you get whether you are male or female.

She was caught committing a crime, resisted, and was taken into custody by use of force necessary to complete the arrest.

Oh and for you ladies. Grab a cops genitals or close your fist and swing at a cop and you'll feel what its like to be a man real fast when the cop drops you. There was no abuse of force here.

Here we go again. Another desktop lawyer who think they know all the facts. All you've seen is fuzzy CCTV footage presented to you by a cynical media ready to manipulate and brainwash you against such high ideals such as civic responsibility, respect for the law, duty of care, etc, etc. Firstly, PC Mulhall was using a Home Office approved technique in order to get her into the handcuffs. He was hitting her in the shoulder blade where there are a lot of nerve endings in order to force her to release her grip. How do you know he was using excessive force? Were you there? If the first strike was so strong, so hard and so painful don't you think she would have let go after the first impact? And, what if I grabbed you by the bollocks and squeezed really hard, would you just stand there until I decide to let go? I don't think so. Don't be so quick to judge about things you know nothing off. Clearly if it took five strikes to get her to release her grip it wasn't force enough force to make her let go after the first hit. So who was the one showing restraint? The media are making her out to be some modern day Robin Hood but she is no angel and has already admitted to violent conduct and been convicted for the criminal damage she committed before the arrest.

Last week Linda Dobbs, a High Court Judge, reduced the sentences of two thugs who kicked an off-duty Copper in to a coma. Ever since then PC Coffill has been in a Permanent Vegative State and needs constant round the clock care. His life is over, his career is over and his family have been destroyed by this senseless beating. The two pieces of scum who did this are now expected to only serve six and seven years each. Where was the public outcry when this happened? Why didn't you ask questions about the lenient sentencing of violent criminals after this? Why don't you ask what are the government going to do to protect our boys in blue? Do you want to live in a lawless, free-for-all society? You'd not even last two minutes if it weren't for people like me taking a stand and saying enough is enough is enough.

People like you make me sick. Police Officers put their lives on the line daily because they want to better their communities, yes they are members of the public also, and all you can do is sit back and judge and say from the comfort of your living room how the police should react to violent situations. What do you do to improve society with your high and mighty ideals and expectations? You get a little bit of knowledge and think you know it all. Maybe you should run for Political office as you seem to have all the answers and get this country out of the mire it has descended in to.

She is and always will be CHAV scum....just the initial interviews show the type of person she is. Claiming that she was having an epileptic fit...qoute form interview with Sun newspaper "Yesterday it emerged the single mum, who has a two-year-old son and lives on £80 a week handouts, has never been diagnosed with epilepsy. She has had two hospital scans to try but neither showed up the condition."
She fought the law...and the law won

As I believe I've said before....
An examination of the footage clearly shows that the officer delivers a series of bottom fist strikes, twisting his body so as to strike nerve clusters in her left shoulder or arm - not her face. This is because she would not stop resisting and/or would not let go of the officers. She is on the cadge...I hope she doesn't get a bean.
