I'm going to go to Penn Tech (College) in Williamsport and I was just wondering what it's like. Thank you!

Please be a little descriptive, at least. Don't just say that it's beautiful or boring... Thank You.

Typical small city that you would find in the inland east or midwest. Most of the creature comforts are there as far as food outlets and shopping. For an older industrial town, Williamsport has kept its downtown thriving to some degree. You won't find any department stores downtown, but a few specialized shops and restaurants to keep you occupied. It also has a Wegman's supermarket (very near Penn Tech), so if you like gourmet grocery stores, you are in luck.

Weather is much like you would experience in Pittsburgh. Warm during the summer, with about a week of muggy weather, but unlike the south. Winters are cold by southern standards, with about 40 inches of snow a year, but it is nowhere near like Syracuse, NY or Canada as far as temperatures or snowfall.

Lots of pretty scenery around Williamsport as the other poster pointed out.

It is very nice in the summer because it is hot but not too hot. In the fall, it is beautiful with all the colors that you can see on the mountains. It has the Lycoming Mall, which is not huge, but it is ok for hanging out with friends. There is a weird artsy statue at the entrance to the mall. It rains alot, and in the winter, it snows pretty often with a few big snowfalls a year. In the winter, it is usually around 20-30 degrees out, but sometimes it goes down around 0 degrees, and it is especially cold at night. It is not like a big city or anything, but you will find enough things to keep you busy. We drive there to go bowling, eat at TGI Friday's, or get some RIta's. I believe they also have a taco bell and a Denny's.

It's a smaller town, nestled between mountains and with a river, or maybe two, running through it. I only pass through on the expressway so I can't comment on the lifestyle but it looks clean and has a hospital. Good luck at school and if you are not from Pennsylvania, then be warned that it does have winter (Canadian definition, not Florida).
