main problem of the misuse of antibiotics occurs when people take them when they shouldn't or don't complete the full dosage. this leaves only the bacteria that didn't get killed off by the antibiotic, that is, the bacteria that are resistant to the antibiotic. the next person who is infected with this now resistant bacteria will not be able to successfully treat his/her infection with that antibiotic.

grasshoppers - you would assume that in times of drought the grass would be brown and green grasshoppers would be seen more by birds and therefore eaten more. this would leave the brown ones to live and reproduce, and maybe the following year there would be all brown grasshoppers and no green ones.
