They probably had to start flying when Philadelphia moved to Kansas City. They also would have flown to the World series in 57 and 58 for the games in Milwaukee. That movie about Roger on TV a couple years ago showed them in a Team bus for some road trips in 1961, I have no idea if that is accurate. The Angels came in the league in expansion in '62 so that would have brought West Coast travel in.
