the best way is to rough up the area that needs seeding then scatter the seed use canadian quick growing ,then cover with sieved soil. The grass will be through in 7 days. cut grass before seeding

Before you go out and buy grass seed, you should do a little investigating into what is causing the patchiness in your lawn. It may just be that you need to reseed your lawn, but it's worth checking things like soil drainage, thatch buildup or moss/fungus first, just to be sure.

It sure will. make sure you keep the area moist after you lay your seed and dont cut it till it is 3 to 5 inches long. Lightly rake the area first to loosen up the dirt slightly. Good luck!
