Why, if you feel your transmission is slow, would you put something in your engine?

And what do you mean by "slow"?

You should take your car to a mechanic-- the question you asked shows you are unqualified to perform your own car service.

You don't want to put anything in your engine. Take your vehicle in and have a transmission service (change filter, gasket and fluid) if you have high mileage may want to consider putting synthetic tranny fluid in opposed to regular. Start with that! Transmission service is the MOST neglected service repair!

have all the fluids changed even the coolant. It's good to this in the spring every year anyway. There is no way to add anything to the engine to make a transmission faster.

If you notice your engine vibrating more than usual, maybe due to an engine misfire (fuel mixture isn't exploding and burning efficiently), then your "knock" sensor could be retarding your ignition spark advance and you'd notice a lack of acceleration power. The first thing to check is your spark plugs, plug wires, and distributor cap and rotor depending on how old your car is. Newer cars have Coil Over Plug (COP) and only have the spark plugs with the ignition coil mounted directly on top of them.

depending how old and how many k's you have on it , you may want to get a engine and transmission flush. What it sounds like is it might be time to change the filters and have a tune up.

You might want to make sure that your oil is changed along with the air filter. If your engine can't breathe it can't perform properly.
