Well, coeducation builds confidence in a person and makes him/her a more complete person to live in a real world.
Coeducation helps to create a sense of equality among boys and girls. They will be able to know and understand each other better and also develop a mentality to help each other.
Now that the entire focus is on career development, students are increasingly becoming introverted. Students are oblivious of social issues and have no sympathy for people who suffer. Coeducation gives them a better perspective of life and studies, for, they get a chance to interact with the students of the opposite sex in the classrooms, and boys and girls learn to treat each other with respect and affection.
Students have a free and natural milieu at home where they live with their brothers and sisters. If students of both sexes are allowed to interact without inhibitions on the campus they will become psychologically mature.
In a mixed class, girls, for instance, learn to tackle the mischievous comments of boys and become more tolerant towards the opposite sex. One of the reasons for the discordance among couples is the intolerance of women. The sensitivity of girls will give way to sensibility.
On the other hand, boys will tend to behave more sympathetically towards girls and the latter will understand that there is a dimension of gentleness beneath the tough exterior of boys.
In the absence of coeducation, students tend to misunderstand when person from the opposite sex approaches them.

Nothing! I hear the argument that the genders need to interact, but you’re wrong. Teenagers cannot asses risk or make rational choices. As a teen I focused far more on the skirts then I ever did on school. The result, I ended up dropping out. Obviously not everyone makes that choice but many do. Academics of high school are simply, especially in our government schools, but ignoring the girls that want your attention is very difficult. As a 26 year old I am a 3.7 GPA student and a model of professionalism in the work place. None of which resulted from my co-ed government education.

Co-ed is important because in the real world men and women live together. The purpose of education is to teach students about the world.
Separating the sexes only leads to increase ignorance of the opposite sex.
Having co-ed allows boy and girls to learn from each-other and understand each-other.

On another note, not everyone is a boy and girl, some are both or neither! what happens to them?
