Exquisite Corpse by Poppy Z Brite - as strange, disgusting, vivid, brutal and tasteless a book as you will ever read, bar none. Brilliantly written - read it!!

Try And then there were none(agatha christie),Hounds of the baskervilles(sir arthur conan doyle),The Birds,Rebecca,Jamacia Inn(daphne du maurier) made into films by alfred hitchcock.The Count of Monte Cristo(alexandre dumas)made into the film with Gerard Depardieu as the main character.

Anything by Charles de Lint. His Newford series is by far the best reads for me. Philip Jose Farmers Image of The Beast
is very visceral.

Hi, James Patterson books are brill, have read all of his, ( dont buy the ones where he writes with other Authors they are C**P) Also, Peter James & Stuart Mcbride are good Authors
