Why is it that the bloods and crips are the two major rival gangs we hear about and what about other gangs?

How come the bloods and the crips hate each other so0o much is it because they are told you or is there an actual GOOD reason why they hate each other?

Because they two are famous and well networked all over the country. Quite Popular too, infact there was a documentary film about them on Discovery Channel long time back on tv.

They hate each other because, each gang must not interfere in each other's business. When profits become less, the fight begins.

Those are the largest in the L.A. area, and the nation.
There are other big gangs in the midwest and south however. Most large black gangs started in the sixties and seventies as a replacement for community organizations like the Black Panthers who had been pretty much wiped out by the FBI and J Edgar Hoover.

These "gangs" set out to do for their neighborhoods what the police failed to, protect and serve. Coincidently, drugs and guns suddenly became affordable and accessible in these same neighborhoods.

Living in the ghetto it is normal for kids to feel frustrated, ignored, and eventually express hatred towards eachother. However, there are many reports of Police doing graffiti, spreading rumors, and even shooting up neighborhoods disguised as rival gangs.

After 30+ yrs of this going on, it's almost impossible to stop it.

I'm sure you can google it. I doubt if there will be any Blood or Crips on Answers that could give you some sort of insider information. Guessing, I'd say it has to do with drug trafficking and territory. And there are other gangs such as the Latin Counts. But the Bs and Cs get more recognition because they are nationwide, while other gangs are segregated to particular cities and communities.
