The film is about a boy and a girl who go out in high school - cant remember much bout it but the boy finds out that his parents are aliens and they have to go back home to theire home planet and take him with them - at the end the boy finds out that the girls parents are aliens too and meets her on the mother ship. I know exactly what your talking about... and it's not a movie it's actually an episode of the 1985 series Amazing Stories.... I think the episode is called Moving Day....
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure this is what your talking about... It pretty much matches your story... It's the first thing that came to mind when I read your question...

I have no name for you but there was this movie in the eighties where ther was this circular hotel in the middle of this little town and this teenage boy was interested in this teenage girl but on the night of the big date he is told by his parents that they had to evacuate and that the reataurant ontop the hotel was actually a saucer and that is where he learns that the girl is there with her suitcase too and her parents. The guy had dark hait and wore a treed greyish jacket . The had sholderlength hair. I think she was a brunette. I tried looking for it but without a clue as to the name it was like finding a needle in a haystack.
