Because that is how the two of them operate. By dividing America into two camps, the crooks in both parties keep us distracted whilst they sell us down the river.

Your assessment of Republicans is a dead giveaway! This Country has become very divided since the first Gulf War. We have two very different views of what America is and was. From a Historical perspective there are people who see issues of Slavery and Manifest Destiny as examples of American evil, they tend to ignore that we were the second Country on Earth to abolish Slavery, and Manifest Destiny acquired lands from European occupation (the SW U.S. was Spanish, not Native). Forward to the modern Era, these same people see their view of evil in all we do. The opponents of Republicans can never hold up to scrutiny of their own position. The current excuse to hate Republicans is the War in the Middle East. Although all of our Allies supported our Intelligence assessments, although Brittan still supports the 'yellow cake' assessment, although we received direct Intelligence from Iraqi Defectors, Although the U.N. claimed Saddman was in 'material breech' of sanctions(Hans Blix 2/23/03), Although the Democrats on various committees had access to the same intelligence data and voted to support the same conclusion (John Edwards was proud to say he went to ex-Clinton aides(the ones still alive or not in jail) and they supported the facts), Although the CIA Director told the President "It's a 'Slam Dunk' Sir", Although the 2000 Democrat Presidential Nominee, Al Gore, said we needed to go into Iraq, Although the previous President, Bill Clinton, had top level discussions about ...... oh wait, we aren't sure what was said there, Sandy Berger stuffed those documents down his pants! All of this is not subject to debate, real facts, and the Liberals try to say "Bush Lied". As to Why they feel this way, I believe it has more to do with the growing support for Marxist and Socialist Idealism. When we had the Soviet Union, it was easy to remind people of the Evil of Marxism and Socialism. Now today, good intention is allowing it to creep into our Society. This is the reason so many are angry with Republicans. As a view of Logic, If you still believe in the whole "most fraudulent , Lying and deceitful, money hungry, war mongering", thing then you are not just expressing a disagreement with policy, you are stating your position, which is a Liberal's position, not a Democrat's. You could very well be a Green, a Socialist, or a Commie.

Well, I try not to hate anyone. Though I'm not much of a church goer, I think there was a guy who preached that hatred was wrong. Or it could have been Don Henley in "heart of the Matter"
I know a lot of conservatives who are democrats. Arnold Schwarzenegger is a social liberal and also a republican, which i guess, overall, makes him a moderate.
These labels have been thrown around a lot. I guess the conservatives assume that since you don't like republicans, you must be a liberal.
I agree with your statement about both parties, except, I'm sure they are trying to achieve parity, like in the NFL. That's a joke, but the congress is very close to being balanced now, which means that politicians of conscience will cross party line for individual issues that they believe in. And that's a very good thing.

Another independent with the same problem. I identify with the Libertarian party the most, so when accused of being "lib", I just agree - Libertarian.
Republicans are party for limited government? Give me a break!

the only reason that the Dems currently seem to be less dishonest is because they just regained power. In a few years, they will be the bad guys and the Repubs will look like the better option.
Neither party represents the people anymore, they just compete with each other for power and control.

Because when folks rant like you just did they are Liberals. They also never heard of spell check either. Other tell tale signs: Liberals name call, Liberals accuse others of what they actually do IE: lie, commit fraud, be deceitful etc. Liberals actually hate but its OK, but everyone else is 'Intollerant".
