I'm eternally happy every time I can pick up my two little ones and spin around in circles while holding them tight.
If I was to die and go downstairs to the bad place I would smile every second hell had to offer me with that one memory in my mind.

97% of the time I am truly happy and content with the blessings I have in my life. I think part of the secret of happiness is to have gratitude for the things that you DO have rather than dwelling on the things that are not going well at the moment. I have come to the realization that I am really a wonderful person, warts and all. I have quit comparing myself with others because I know that there will alway be people that are better than me, and worse than me, and that's ok. I have special and unique gifts, talents and qualities that make me who I am. Some people will appreciate those qualities, others will not. I am a nice person who tries to make other peoples day just a little bit better because they crossed my path.
This may sound a little silly, but to me it's a profound statement. The secret to being happy is to just be happy. For those of you who think that the only reason I'm this way is because I haven't had any challenges in life, let me assure you that this is DEFINITELY not the case. By the time I was 13 I had seen and experienced just about every bad thing the world could throw at a child and that cycle didn't end until I was about 24. Nonetheless, happiness comes from inside, not from some external force. Start looking at the beauty life has to offer and the good people and things that surround you.

Happiness is fleeting...it comes and goes like the wind. We feel happy and then a few moments later the feeling subsides. I think the word mentioned before is better...content...that basically occurs when everything seems to be working out and there is no drama to contend with.
Maybe we pretend to be sometimes to avoid people from asking too many "Are you alright?" questions...

Dragon is on occasion truly happy, without pretending. It is pretty rare though.

I feel like I have it all. I guess I am happy. I like to wake up.
I don't pretend to be happy, but sometimes I have to pretend to be mad to keep the kids in line.
