Well, I cant see elephant meat on the article below, so I would guess that it's okay to eat.

elephants are very adorable creatures. i visited thailand, n the ppl there workship elephants. elephants can be trained like horses, dogs, seals, monkeys. not all wild animals can be trained. i think almost all human wont eat elephant. doesnt really apply to only muslims. ur ustazah is going to give u a joke answer probably.

Muslims must ask Allah 5 times a day whether they can eat elephant meat or not.
If Allah says yes, they can eat it.
Besides that, they must change their names to Mohd Gajah bin Abdullah Bawang.

No lah.we cant eat elephant....furthermore they are endangered species lah...why must eat the pity fellar while there are plenty other things to eat...Humans can be so mean sometimes.. :-(

If u refer to mazhab syafie, i think we cannot eat elephant.
not sure about other mazhab.
but we can eat it if its in darurat state..
