I have had two threesomes. One where I was the third person in a couple's bedroom and another where I invited a friend to share my and my partner's bed.

Both times I thought the thought of it was much more exciting than actually doing it. Both were fun, the couple I slept with stayed together and we stayed friends (I even was their lodger for a bit afterwards) and I stayed with my partner and stayed friends with the other lady too.

I think it helps to agree rules (who can do what with whom) and to tink about the immediate aftermath. The couple put a fold up bed in their room for me so that we could all sleep and I wasn't just dismissed like some toy - it was a nice touch. I was offered one but didn't take the offer up.
No real moral reason, I just wont do something if I think that when I wake up the next day I am going to be ashamed of myself. At the end of the day I have to be comfortable with myself.

I did one with my husband when we were dating and it created problems. We did it with a friend of ours who is no longer our friend...that's putting it nicely. It's hard to do something like that without there being jealousy. There's a chance it could have gone better if we had set boundaries/limits. We were able to save our relationship but there were some trust issues that took a long time to fix. We agreed it was interesting but not worth the problems it caused afterwards. If its you and your SO wanting to invite someone else in, I would say DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!. My ex and I did it and he ended up infatuated with the other girl. In fact, he left me for her. Before that we had a decent enough relationship, but the strain of the emotions the 3 way brought up killed our love. If you do do it, I would recommed a complete stranger with lots of protection.

If you have a partner they have to be 100% sure if so give it a go.
