Can someone help me... who knows the amount of food a person eats a day??

If its an adult. around 5 kg
If its a child. around 1.5 kg

Depends on a lot of things. Too many things, in fact, for a respectable answer.

For instance...
A person where? in the United States? in China? in South Africa?

How old are they? a baby? a ten-year-old? a teenager? an adult?

What's their economic status? poor? rich? wealthy?

I could go on, but you get the idea.

If someone were to mathematically deduce an average, it would have to be unsatisfactory, because it would have to take into account all of these wildly disparate groups of people.

That's a *very* strong function of exactly where you live in the world.

For the average American, I seem to recall it's a bit under 5 kg.
