I need to know before buying one since it can hold about 5 times more than my internal HDs. DLLs will go to C:\windows and as long as the external HD is connected to the PC where you installed the game the game will work?

Unless a game offers you an option to install where you want to install it, the key places it will load are C:\Programmes, and a bunch of DLLs will load to C:\Windows
So, you either Synch up a folder for Programmes, and Windows so it exists on the external drive, but thats not very efficient.
One Option I know works, since I do it at home, is install a Second version of XP Pro, but Choose the External Drive as your Place of Install, and make it exclusively for games.
You will have minimal speed issues, but you may want to increase the Temp File for the External drive.

Yes. but, won't run as fast, plus, the initialization files needto be on the internal drive!

Then, there are webgames like Second Life.
