They are, so they would be a good comparison. Another is "The World According To Garp." It's a great book by John Irving, but I never thought it could be made into a movie. It was made into an excellent movie with Robin Williams and John Lithgow. They just had to cut lots of the book. Walter Mosley wrote a book that was also made into a movie. Sorry I can't remember the name, but look for his books and cross-check them against the movies. It has the same name and it would be an easier comparison. Also "Get Shorty"--same situation. "Gone with the Wind"--both book and movie. "Little Women"--1 book; sev'l movie versions. More recently---2006 probably--"Perfume", good book, odd movie. It would be easy to compare and easy to criticize the movie. The movie wasn't bad; just unusual I guess.

Yes the book and the movie revolve around the same events but the movie is more so about Capote's life where as the book is strictly about the murder and the murderers.
I think it would be pretty difficult.. but it's up to you.

Hmmm... how about To Kill a Mockingbird, but Capote's best friend Harper Lee..... I believe there are enough differences between the book and the movie.
Capote is fictionalized as Dill in the movie.
