A mutual Friend, just give Birth to a Beautiful Baby Boy! (everyone is doin' fine) But the Doctors have been tellin' the new Prents, To expect a Girl! Is this kind of Boo-Boo, all that common? I'm a Guy. And Old-School at that. I never had this happen when I was blessed with Kids? Has it happened to you? Or someone you know? What was the aftermath, of it?

It absolutely happens! That's why the u/s techs always say "It LOOKS LIKE a little girl" or "It LOOKS LIKE a little boy", they can't guarantee anything. What I love more is the women who say they had their doctor scheduled the ultrasound to find out if it was a boy or girl. Ultrasound is a diagnostic tool used to detect abnormalities and get measurements for dating, not to determine the sex of the child. It's a nice fun added benefit to have them guess- but it's not for sure! I have to admit, though- typically, they're right. I'd say 9/10.
I know someone who had an amnio and they told her she was having a girl and a few months later out pops a sweet baby boy! Apparently, the amnio was very messed up!

Yes this is very common. It actually happened to a good friend of mine. She was expecting a boy and it turned out to be a girl. The only thing that your friend can do is see how many reciepts she has the baby's clothes and try to exchange them. As for the nursery, well, not much to say there. It might take them a little while to get used to the fact that they have a boy when all this time they were expecting a girl. Wish them luck for me.

I'm not sure if it is that common, but a friend of mine thought she was having a boy all along and it turned out to be a girl, she had tons of stuff for a boy, but not a girl. I warned her as well, that she shouldn't buy too much because it is not 100% when the dr tells you. I don't know why people want to know anyhow it ruins the surprise and takes away some of the excitement.

My niece was told she was having a girl. They convinced her so much that everything she bought and received at her shower were for a girl. She was so shocked when she delivered a boy. All the doctors could say was that an ultrasound is not 100% accurate way to determine the sex.

Can happen. If they didn't have a clear shot of the genitals they may not have been able to tell for sure. When I had my ultrasound with my son he wasn't cooperating. 1/2 way through the appointment the technician said she wasn't seeing any signs of it being a boy. At the end of the appointment, for one quick shot, my son spread eagle and we got the genital shot. Had we not seen that shot, the technician was thinking a girl.

I have heard of lots of predictions of the baby's sex being wrong. Even with the technology we have today, doctors aren't perfect.
There shouldn't be any aftermath at all. Their baby was a pleasant surprise. And THAT'S Old School! HA HA! ;)

Yep, I am one of those children. My mother thank goodness didn't listen to the doctors. I was supposed to be boy, I was uncooperative during ultra sound, so they proceeded to try to tell by heartbeat. Needless to say here I am and 100% sure that I'm a girl.

Yes it is common, my oldest son was suppose to be a girl and although we got over the fact he was a boy, we never had boy names picked out, so he ended up a junior, had we known, we would have focused on boy names a little more. also, baby boys are handsome , not beautiful, that's the baby girls, lest you make him gay in the process.
