I'm not talking about laws, but more vices that people obtain. Should you be aloud to do what you please to yourself, or with consenting parties, or do what you please in YOUR own home?

There are two schools of thought.

The first is that people are sentient beings capable of exercising free will, and thus capable of making decisions about what happens within their own lifes.

The second is that all people are stupid, ignorant children, and that individuals should not be allowed to make choices that the majority disagrees with.

I'm of the first school, and think the government should keep its nose out of any activities that are purely consensual to all who are directly affected.

In the US, the tendency seems to be running toward the latter school, largely because too many people seem unwilling to take personal responsibility for their actions, so they expect the government to decide and compel behavior.

Well, since we elect leaders who are supposed to be exceptional and better than we are, they should be refraining from vices. But, it also depends on the vice. Do they have a glass a wine every night or are they drinking a 12 pack daily? Things like that. Then you have to think about is it going to affect the American people and his job? Then throw in how much they spew about morality. The President then has to set an example. So, the answer to your question is yes.

Unless you are infringing on anyone Else's rights you should be allowed to do what ever you want.
